In need of a quiet and charming weekend getaway, we headed over to Kitzbühel and stayed at Hotel Schloss Lebenberg. The moment we stepped into the lobby, we indulged in a five-star pampering and felt relieved to have picked this hotel on an impulse based purely on the famous location.
Overview
In short, Hotel Schloss Lebenberg has an understated sophistication, is full of character and in a great position overlooking the Alps.
As we arrived much earlier than the official check in time, we ordered a light lunch at the cosy bar located next to the Residenz Restaurant, while the reception staff prepared our pool access card and swimming kit (bag, bathrobe and flip-flops). The bar felt intimate and very inviting because of the open fireplace, the warm upholstery colors and the library. It was the perfect place to sip on a cocktail and recharge after a 4-hour drive.
The awesome 46 m long indoor pool is located on the rooftop of the hotel and commands panoramic views over Kitzbühel area. Relaxation is the only way I can sum it up! It offers fluffy towels, tea facilities and comfortable beds, where you can lie down to enjoy the view.
We were pleasantly surprised by entering the Junior Suite. The Suite is modern and cosy – with all needed 5* amenities.
Wining & Dining
The hotel offers a half-board package in the room price. You might be tempted to overlook it. Don’t! Even if this is a large hotel, the kitchen team performs outstanding! I was served a five-course dinner where the table star was the duck breast – cooked close to perfection!
I would return to Hotel Schloss Lebenberg in a heartbeat as it is the perfect retreat for both couples and families. The large, beautifully appointed rooms, the stunning indoor pool and the fine dining restaurant are the three key ingredients for a luxurious stay.

If you love ski racing, then get tickets to the most famous downhill race on the planet – The Hahnenkamm race – taking place in January every year. You might have a chance to meet Arnie Schwarzenegger or other celebrities attending the event.
