Fancy a romantic getaway in a charming Italian winery? Take a trip to Valpolicella and stay at Massimago. Where better to stay than an award-winning winery!

Massimago is an idyllic winery set in the valley of Mezzane, about 13 km from Verona, which offers accommodation, wine tastings and cellar tours. After you’ll be drinking their awarded AMARONE D.O.C.G., you’ll thank me for telling you to go there!

We’ve been there for a 4 night-stay and were blessed with great weather. So we spent most of our mornings just resting in the tranquil garden and enjoying the peaceful view. The comfy garden loungers, the majestic cypresses and the beautiful golden hills were the perfect treat for our Italian escape. It couldn’t be more quiet and serene.

Massimago is composed of 3 charming houses – L’Olivo, Il Ciliegio, La Vite – that have been meticulously renovated while still preserving the spirit and tradition of the original ones. I booked the L’Olivo and was more than happy with my decision.

Valle di Mezzane is renowned for its winery fertile terrain and Massimago is producing an excellent range of wines – top quality and awarded! The processing of the grapes takes place in a modern facility, but the aging takes place in the old cellar, in barriques which enrich and age the wine with flavors.

If you’re looking for a charming accommodation, privacy, nature and tasteful wines – this place is definitely for you!
WINING & DINING
If you want to dine, book a table at the restaurant Le Cedrare for an one-of-a-kind foodie experience that you won’t forget. The restaurant is located in the magnificent Villa Perez Pompei Sagramoso and they produce a delicious extra virgin olive oil, actually the best I found in Valpolicella – amazing taste and top class price/quality ratio!
