Deciding on a trip to the famous Kaprun ski resort is easy. Deciding on where to stay in style and where to eat gourmet delicacies is a whole other story. Since I’m a big fan of innovative cuisine and fancy interior design, I decided to stay at the brand new TWENTY FOUR by AvenidA Hotel & Residences Kaprun. And it was one of my best culinary experiences I had so far in Salzburger Land! So read on to inspire your wanderlust – and tempt your appetite!
TWENTY FOUR by AvenidA Hotel & Residences Kaprun first opened its doors in December 2017, and this unique Aparthotel is just 300 m away from the village centre with shops and bars. What’s the appeal, exactly? Luxurious amenities, incredible food and wine, and spectacular views are the biggies. To top it off, a free private shuttle bus assures the daily connection between the hotel and the ski lifts.
From the moment you step into this intimate design hotel you will feel yourself switch into relaxation mode. The vibe is completely laid-back and relaxed, you’ll hear trendy, upbeat music coming from the bar, and you’ll fall in love with the chic alpine ambiance and thoughtful design. Best part? The hospitality is so warm and welcoming that you’ll think you’re staying with good friends.
Cozy Nights & Bubbly Mornings
Bright and beautifully appointed, the hotel rooms, suites and penthouses are virtually flawless! All are stylishly decorated in sleek wood furniture and neutral-tones. No wonder – the modern & minimalist design is one of the key traits that define Alpine Rentals philosophy.
For the iconic jacuzzi experience, opt for the Designer Penthouse (91-101 sq m, hosts 2-8 persons) with outdoor bath! It boasts three bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a lounge with a well-appointed kitchen and a sleeping couch, and even a sauna. The modern bathrooms have glass-walled showers and quality toiletries, you’ll find slippers and fluffy bathrobes in each bedroom.
Absolutely no attention to detail is overlooked, with a gorgeous outdoor jacuzzi and a beautiful terrace. Is there anything more stunning than snow-capped mountain peaks first thing in the morning?
The apartments at TWENTY FOUR by Avenida Kaprun are a highlight in themselves, though you can easily fall in to the trap of never wanting to leave your apartment to explore Kaprun and surrounds.
Wining & Dining
At 24 Kitchen & Bar Restaurant, the cooking expresses what I’m perhaps unable to express with words… to put it short, it’s simply fantastic! The setting will please gourmands and hip foodies alike. So pack your stretchy pants and loosen your belt for some sublime dining in Kaprun!
Order a Wagyu Lady’s or Men’s Cut, choose a Brunello di Montalcino, and you’ll experience pure bliss! Tender and juicy – it will melt in your mouth. And I hope you’ll agree that the redder-the-better.
It’s no secret, that you can instantly rate a restaurant by just checking the extra virgin olive oil placed on your table. Well, here you’ll find only COMINCIOLI oil, and if you’re a true Italophile, then you know what I mean.
Last but not least, the hotel organizes various events Fridays and Sundays that liven things up – the performance of the DJs is fabulous, and the soulful sounds will definitely catch your ear. Starters like Wagyu Beef Carpaccio or Wagyu Chuck Nigiri are followed by mains like Ultimate Wagyu Stroganoff (a truly rare delicacy), or Marinated Salmon & Trout from Leogang. And the decadent Dark Chocolate Mousse is the perfect dessert for chocolate lovers!
Kogoy Michael and Markus Lorbeck are the enthusiastics chefs in charge of these delicacies. Make sure to say Hi to them and have a look at their Wagyu fridge!
