Surrounded by the stunning Tyrolean Alps and famous for being drenched in both snow and sunshine, it’s not hard to figure out why Zillertal is one of the hottest winter ski destinations in Austria. Spieljochbahn, Hochfügen and Hochzillertal are a heaven for mountain lovers – skiers and snowboarders can choose from a vast array of slopes, from easy blue ones to crispy black ones. Sounds tempting, right?
And KOSIS Sports Lifestyle Hotel is all about celebrating its roots in Tyrol’s beautiful Fügen region. Uncomplicated, easy and light-hearted this hotel redefines coziness with good taste and a delicious laid back vibe. Best part? The owner of the hotel – Thomas >KOSI> Huber – wants you to show up and actually experience the stunning slopes, not just the hotel’s interior walls.
When creating this place, Thomas Huber poured his travel tales, and personal way of living into the concept. KOSIS is more than just a ski hotel, it is a way of life that feels more like the modern mountain home of a good friend. Everyone is a treasured guest and you’ll see him everyday doing what hosts do best – chatting to you! In addition, interiors are dedicated to Alpine deliciousness.
At Kosis Sports Lifestyle Hotel, there’s plenty of room to breathe, with spacious rooms and suites and wonderful views. Cozy living is echoed in each suite & room, no matter which you choose. Some rooms are BRAND NEW, immaculate, comfortable and every detail feels luxurious and elegant without being too over the top.
Also, the Penthouse Suites feature lots of luxury amenities – a fire-place, a sauna, and a beautiful freestanding bath tub. Don’t know about you, but I could not ask for more!
In short, this modern hotel blends mountain lifestyle with simple elegance and luxury wellness vibes.
Wellness & Spa
You simply can’t visit Kosis Sports Lifestyle Hotel without stepping foot in their beautiful spa – a spiritual oasis of energy. KOSIS Lifestyle Spa is located in the 500-year-old ‘Hacklturm’ tower. Here you’ll find a Bio-Sauna made of Swiss-pine, a Finnish Sauna, a Steam Bath with Kings-Seat, one massage room, relaxation rooms and a small but well-equipped fitness gym.
So though the spa here is not massive, it is big enough for spending hours of deep relaxation. After all, we all know how good a fresh new ‘do feels.
Delicious Eats & Drinks
Serving nothing but plates of taste, you’ll definitely enjoy the meals at this special hotel. Choose half-board, and you’ll thank me later! Breakfast is as one might expect, local, tasty and original being served at KOSIS Buffet & Show-Kitchen. It comes with a wide selection of fresh fruits, pastries, coffee, tea, fresh and cold meats.
There is also the inviting Zirbenstube and the Dinners Club & Tasting Room, but the gastro triumph here is KOSIS Wine & Dine – à la carte restaurant. Fresh and thoughtful!
With a fantastic array of finger-food and drinking options too, the KOSIS Fun Food Bar is insanely popular with the local scene and hotel guests. Live bands are playing here, fun is guaranteed.
GOOD TO KNOW: if you’re keen on experiencing the KOSIS Single-Ski-Weekend (28.03. -31.03.2019) click here! An attractive offer like that will come just once in a lifetime.
To Dos While You’Re Here
The hotel runs a complimentary shuttle service to the ski school and ski rental shop. Moreover, there are countless scenic slopes here. But if you’re not into skiing and just want to admire the surroundings, grab yourself an Aperol – it tastes perfect on the slopes!
Be sure to head to Erlebnistherme Zillertal– you’ll love it! The huge pools are heated up to 32° – 35° degrees, and views are spectacular here.
I’m not sure there’s a tougher question than when people ask me my favorite place in Austria, but Fügen is definitely one of them. A stay here is all about great ski, lots of fun and scenic beauty.
