With its beautiful crystal-clear lakes and vivid green forests, Carinthia is the epitome of idyllic. And there’s no secret that Turracher See is a dreamy destination for nature lovers and enthusiastic water sports fans. Situated at 1,763 meters above sea level and covering 18.3 hectares, this wonderful lake is up to 33 meters deep. Best part, the area is completely pollen-free!
Moreover, a lake retreat plus a spa session equals the perfect method for pure bliss. So let me give you a little background on Hochschober Hotel and why it should be on your bucket list!

The 4-star superior Hochschober Hotel is located on the Turracher Höhe featuring fabulous spa facilities and great family activities. Besides, the Leeb & Klein family is running this chic wellness hotel in the third generation – guests are kings here! They do an impeccable job of making spa aficionados feel like they’ve entered their own slice of natural paradise – the main draw here is the heated lake pool (25 m long).
After all, who doesn’t love waking up every morning and having a refreshing dip in the lake? This hotel will put anyone in a state of peace.

Wellness & Sports
Well, I don’t know about you but I can never have too much WATER in my life. My love for alpine lakes is well documented on this travel blog, however, Hotel Hochschober knocked me off my feet! This slice of paradise is the perfect place to plan a jam-packed vacation full of fun things to do.

If you want a break from the sunshine, the staff will attentively whisk you away for a body treatment or massage in the opulent spa. The wellness area boasts 5,000 sq m, and the soothing views are unique.
At the SPA you’ll find wellness aficionados huddled up in the China Tower ordering delicious teas, lounging on the spa beds or taking a dip in the tempting pools. In short, Hochschober Hotel is the perfect place to unwind, and the gardens are not to be missed.
Last but not least, the HAMAM is a one-of-a-kind experience, and you won’t find too many hotels in Austria with such tempting spa facilities.

So if you’re looking for a wellness hotel with killer water views, look no further! There is literally every water sport activity you can think of at Hochschober – from paddle boarding and canoeing to more specialist activities. Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) is the fastest growing sport across the world – it’s about time you give it a try!

Delicious Eats
The Hochschober Indulgence Board includes a rich healthy breakfast, a delicious lunch and a five-course gourmet dinner. Vegetarians and vegans will be pleased here – there are so many choices from Indian to Chinese and Japanese cuisine.

Oh, and there’s THE view from above… This restaurant is truly picturesque!

Little Ones & Teens
Children and teenagers can spend their vacation perfectly well looked after. Your little ones can play in the tree village, make crafts, cook, visit the small zoo, dance with the “HochschoBär”… Or they learn to swim, in the swimming course for babies and toddlers (from 9 – 23 of July). The older ones meet on the summer toboggan run for the “Nocky Flitzen“, practice archery and stand-up paddling, mix cocktails, organize games evenings and much more. Sounds tempting, right?
But enough about how amazing I think this alpine hotel is, I can literally write a book about what an incredible wellness area and heated lake pool it has – the best thing to do is go out there and experience it on your own!
Though this post is in partnership with Hochschober Hotel, as always, opinions are all mine. Header, aerial view plus room photos courtesy of the hotel. Happy summer everyone!
