If you’re looking to plan your next unique summer escape, look no further than Mykonos. The combination of amazing beaches, crystal clear sea and delicious cuisine is hard to beat!
Mykonos – the island of the winds – is the famous jet set destination, where the true Greek spirit is mixed with international glamour. From the 70’s till now the island attracts all types of celebrities from fashion, music or business world. So you might have the surprise to lie on the beach and spot Harrison Ford, Jean Paul Gaultier or Beyonce passing by.

If you prefer smaller cosier retreats to the large crowded hotels that leave you wondering whether you are still in Greece or Turkey, then Archipelagos Luxury Hotel Mykonos – a proud member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection – is the right choice for you!

Well, first of all, let me tell you a little secret. Kalo Livadi located near Archipelagos boutique hotel is one of the highly ranked beaches in Mykonos – Solymar Beach Restaurant & Bar being the hot spot here. If you want to soak up some glamour, give it a try and put on your hottest bikini and designer sunglasses!

Due to the sheltered bay, the sea is waveless and you can swim or float on your back in amazing blue water! This “blue” is a color I can’t quite describe, somewhere between emerald green, turquoise and sapphire.

What’s the main draw? While the entire island of Mykonos is packed with wonderful beaches, Kalo Livadi is particularly well suited for families. It’s one of the largest beaches in length and in width. Both the sea and sand are cleaner here than at the other beaches, where the world-renowned parties take place.

OVERVIEW
The luxurious Archipelagos Hotel is painted in traditional Greek blue and white colors, but with a twist of modernity in design. Rooms are a nice blend of trendy style and Mykonian tradition, and the Aegean feeling is amplified by the amazing sea view.

What’s cool? The family-run boutique hotel is so intimate that guests get the sense that they are among friends. With just 40 rooms & suites, the hotel makes it easy to chat with other guests over a light Mythos beer or bond as you watch the sunset together.

Nothing is too much trouble for the attentive staff to make your stay perfect. They are always keen to please and have a chat. So I made a great friend during my stay – the hotel’s chef, Giannis Hatziandreou.

We were on half-board basis and were pleasantly surprised at the options available on the menu. Everything was fresh and delicious – starting with the breakfast up to the dinner courses, the whole culinary experience was at a high level… and the Ginger & Coriander Steamed Mussels left us wowed!

TO DOS WHILE YOU’RE HERE
Take a taxi (be advised that there are only 30 taxis on the island) for a little celebrity-spotting in Mykonos Town – you won’t regret it! Book a table at M-eating Restaurant-Bar where you can feast on a selection of Aegean cuisine or simply settle back with a glass of chilled wine and admire the fabulous fashionistas.

Last but not least, you shouldn’t miss Lia Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Mykonos. It’s protected by the summer winds and the clear waters of the sandy bay are the perfect option for those looking for a peaceful spot away from the mass tourism.
Mykonos is an island that will capture your heart & soul, so fly in and get pampered at Archipelagos Mykonos Hotel! The hotel offers a ten-minute airport shuttle service to Mykonos Island National Airport … so what are you waiting for?
Thank you to Archipelagos Luxury Hotel Mykonos for welcoming Expat Trip! Opinions are, as always, my own.
