Tyrol has it all: the high-end, the traditional, the touristy, the unknown, the affordable, and the spectacular accommodation. It’s all here, and it’s a tough choice!
But as you all know by now, I have a thing for the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection – this exquisite brand of hotels never fails to impress with commitment to quality. Moreover, each SLH member has that little extra touch… So grab a pen and make your checklist for the upcoming winter season. Here’s a special boutique hotel located in the wonderful Zillertal valley!

Awarded with the Austrian Environmental Seal and the EU Ecolabel, the 4-star superior DasPosthotel by ZillerSeasons is pure and pristine – a massive tribute to the power of wood. Interior designer Harald Margreiter recently worked his magic on this Austrian masterpiece, and the pine, oak and spruce interiors create lots of warmth and coziness. In short, Tyrolean charm at its best!

Everything from the decor to the architecture is bright and fresh, enhancing the luxurious feel at this mountain hotel. The owners, Christina & Reinhard Binder-Egger plus Johann Egger, welcome you to “Pure Pleasure” – they greet guests with the smell of baking bread in the lobby.

Indulgent Nights
As you would expect from a luxury boutique hotel, DasPosthotel has no shortage of unique accommodations for every type of traveler. You’ll find rooms, apartments, suites – and 8 stunning SkyLofts. These luxurious SkyLofts pay tribute to inspiring figures like Marie Antoinette, Heinrich Harrer and Nikolaus Kopernikus. Each SkyLoft reflects the essence of a famous historical personality. Furnished with artwork and antiques, these are sacred spaces that feed your heart and soul with lasting memories. But let’s have a look at the Grand Hotel SkyLoft!
The Grand Hotel SkyLoft boasts 95 sq m, and can host up to 5 persons. It features a huge living room with an adjacent sunny terrace, 2 separate bedrooms with 2 luxurious queen-size beds and en-suite bathrooms. The azure-blue fabrics, the open fireplace, the abundant natural lighting, the free-standing bathtub and the infrared cabin make it a perfect retreat.

Wellness & SPA
The hotel goes above and beyond to provide guests with its self-described “excellent service,” and you’ll feel pampered at the BoutiqueSpa. The spa features 4,300 sq m of wellness area with six saunas, outdoor pool with indoor access, and organic beauty treatments.

As in all the best places, there is an inviting Finnish Sauna, a Bio Sauna, an Ice Fountain, a Bucket Shower, and a Kneipp Pool. And the highlights of this wellness oasis: the Aromatic Steam Bath and the Brine Steam Bath. So give your skin a treat – the salt scrub will intensify the purifying effect, and your skin will feel like velvet.

After the steam bath, allow yourself some rest and head to the treatment rooms for a Deluxe Facial (80 minutes of pure bliss) or for a Lomi Lomi Nui Massage (80 minutes of total relaxation) – here you can experience the organic Susanne Kaufmann products, that will literally change your skin. Susanne Kaufmann comes from the Bregenzer Forest, a unique valley in the Alps where the knowledge of the healing powers of nature are passed down from generation to generation. So you’re in good hands with these energy rich oils and plant-based cremes – just close your eyes, relax and enjoy!

Wining & Dining
What really makes this boutique hotel one-of-a-kind is the gourmet restaurant HeLeni. Using only organic farm-to-table ingredients, HeLeni is an authentic gastronomic journey – the kind you will keep mentally reliving and referring to for many months to come. The international team, lead by Head Chef Marcus Duchardt and Sous Chefs Mario Herrmann and Gian Paolo Pacchiele, creates unforgettable delicacies.
Just to be clear: if you’re here for Schnitzel and Bratwurst, you’re definitely in the wrong place! This small bijou venue is for gourmet foodies who value treats and the finer things in life.

And joy comes easy, when it comes to wine tasting! Pairing a 4-course dinner with wine can seem intimidating, but it won’t be. So feel free to indulge in a glass of Riesling vom Löss Vorspannhof Mayr, Sauvignon Blanc Hochsulz Skoff, Markowitsch Zweigelt Rubin, Polz Chardonnay Moth, and Traminer Auslese Kracher. All these wine choices will complement the flavors of your dinner.

Power Points: beautiful setting, excellent food, impeccable service, delicious wines and super fancy cocktails. Be sure to order the amazing GINA Cocktail – Gin mixed with a special hay syrup and seasoned with fresh apple slices… probably the best cocktail you’ll taste in Tyrol!
To Dos While You’re Here
Zillertal is the perfect destination for endless hiking, biking and golfing. DasPosthotel by Zillerseasons offers guided hikes – Judy & Jasmin will show you the hiking hot spots, and the wonders of the Tyrolean Alps.

Moreover, the area is a real paradise for golf aficionados. Golfclub Zillertal Uderns boasts a flat and gently undulating 18-hole championship course with lakes, orchards and beautiful surroundings.
