Having stayed in SPA hotels for the better part of the past 3 years since beginning of Expat Trip, I’ve come to the conclusion that there are only a handful that can successfully transport you to another time and place, as if you have stepped back to a former period. Needless to say Ebner’s Waldhof am See, one of the most luxurious properties in Fuschl am See, is one such hotel. And after experiencing this hotel for myself, I would happily recommend it to you too.

Delivering the utmost in exclusivity, unique wellness treatments and impressive attention to detail, this 4-star superior wellness hotel is the perfect place to recharge and relax.
Cozy Nights
Well, you’ll have one key decision to make when booking your lake escape at Ebner’s Waldhof am See: room, apartment or suite located in the Waldhof Main House, Waldhof Villa & Gütl or Ansitz. Suffice it to say that stepping out on the terrace of the “Zwölferhorn Suite” each morning, you’ll be WOWED by the view!
Even the suites are named in a way that will make you feel as cozy as possible. Because of this, Ebner’s Waldhof am See is the perfect place to perch yourself on your balcony for sunset – so be sure to bear this in mind when choosing your hotel room view.
The rooms and suites vary in size and design, combining a contemporary touch with a sense of tradition. The “Osterhorn Suites” for example stretch over two floors and have a forest-facing rooftop terrace ensuring total peace, tranquillity and fresh mountain air. The Waldhof Spa is actually the largest private spa in the Salzkammergut Lake District featuring 4000 sq m of pure relaxation.
INSIDER TIP: Each morning you’ll enjoy a range of face & body treatments, but the one that took my fancy was the exclusive Vinoble Maxi Lifting, complete with a supercharged red wine serum. Be sure to book an Alpine Herbal Pouch Massage or treat yourself to cosmetic treatments using tonics and creams made with herbs and medicinal plants from the hotel’s own Herb Kitchen.
And there is the Waldhof Water World featuring a large indoor pool (30 degrees, with a wild water stream, waterfall, underwater jets and a relaxing whirlpool area), a big whirlpool with massage jets, a heated outdoor pool (32 degrees), and a heated outdoor sports pool (28 degrees).
Finally, if you are a fan of real saunas then the Waldhof Sauna World will exceed your expectations. It boasts a traditional Finnish sauna (90°C), a sanarium (60°C), an infrared cabin sauna (70°C), a saline steam bath (60°C) and a saline inhalation grotto.
Delicious Eats
The hotel offers superior half-board – a rich breakfast buffet, an afternoon snack buffet,
a cake & snack buffet and a gourmet dinner. You’ll enjoy yummilicious treats in the Main House Restaurant and Alpine Wellness &Vitality Cuisine in the Gütl Garden Restaurant. And there’s the Waldhof Alm Mountain Restaurant – just a fifteen minutes’ walk from the hotel.
Oh, and the breakfast… is unique here! You’ll indulge in colorful fruit smoothies – the ultra delicious and nutritious GUAVE smoothie is a MUST!

The hotel’s own “Children’s World” club guarantees lots of fun – painting, handicrafts, games, climbing and resting after long hikes! Amenities include a kids library, an exciting adventure playground, a pet corner and a tempting tubing run for adrenaline fans.
